Rental Book Check-in/Buy-Back - May 13-17
K-STATE SALINA BOOKSTORE will have their Book Buyback and Rental Book Check-In during Fianls week from 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Monday - Thursday and on Friday we will stay open until 6:30 p.m. for those who have late exams.
Have used books sitting around? Donate them now! - through May 31
The library will be hosting a book drive until May 31st to collect both new and used books through Better World Books. If the bookstore doesn’t want it, you can’t sell it back on Amazon or even if it’s out of date or highlighted, please consider donating the book to this wonderful cause. Just place the books in the bins located around campus or bring your books to the library. Have an office or car-full? We'll be right over to collect them for you!
All the books will go towards helping the National Center for Family Literacy, a nation-wide program designed to help disadvantaged children and parents become better readers.

Project Salina Food Drive - through May 31
Please contribute boxes of macaroni and cheese to the annual Project Salina Food Drive! Project Salina is the main annual food drive for Saline County. It benefits DVACK, Ashby House, the Salvation Army, the Mission, and the Emergency Food Bank. Every year this food drive collects about 77,000 food items for individuals and families served by the five agencies.
There are collection boxes in every building. In the Tech Center the collection box is located to the right of the Academic Career & Advising Center. In College Center, the collection box is located to the left of the entrance to the cafeteria.
The drive will run until May 31st. Our goal is to collect 800 boxes of macaroni and cheese. Please help the Salina community by contributing! Thanks!
Student Opportunities
Enrolling now saves money and time
* Tuition and fees for Fall 2013 will be assessed on July 15 and not be due until the first day of class, August 26.
* Financial aid will apply to fall tuition and fees on August 16.
* If not enrolled your student financial aid will not apply to your account.
* If not enrolled and financial aid doesn’t apply to account you will not be eligible for the refund of excess financial aid.
* Waiting to enroll until the first day of class subjects a student to a late enrollment fee.
* A late or delayed refund check hampers student ability to purchase books and supplies at the start of the term.
* When you enroll – order your parking permit and sign up for electronic refund of your financial aid at the same time. EFT refunds (those directly deposited to your checking accounts) are processed daily – paper checks are written once a week.
* Don’t delay enrollment, your refund, or ordering your parking permit. Do it now and all will be ready for you when you return to school in August!!
Your refund check will be credited to your bank account the Friday before classes start in the fall, IF YOU ENROLL FOR THE E-REFUND BEFORE AUGUST 15.

STUDENT EMPLOYEE - Academic and Career Advising Center
The Academic and Career Advising Center is looking for a student employee to work 10-15 hours per week.
This position, to begin at the start of Fall 2013 semester, will include the following duties:
* Data entry
* Answering telephones
* Scheduling appointments
* Providing customer service to students utilizing Academic and Career Advising Center (ACAC) services
* Scanning, copying and filing documents
* Assisting with ACAC event booths and event promotion
* Providing support to ACAC staff.
* Projects as assigned
Qualifications include:
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and web browsers
* Detail-oriented
* The ability to work independently on given tasks
* Have excellent written and oral communication skills
* Integrity, punctuality and dependability

STUDENT EMPLOYEE - Cashier’s Office

TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR - U.S.D. 109, Republic County Schools, Belleville, KS
This is a full-time position, 228 days, 11.5 months per year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support and maintain all district technology, hardware and software.
* Acquire and arrange for installation of new and upgraded technology.
* Manage all district technology networks (Microsoft Windows workstations and servers).
* Work with technology vendors and contractors as needed.
* Provide technology support for staff including necessary professional development.
* Support educational programs such as standardized testing, student record management, and state
data reporting utilizing the PowerSchool Student Information System.
* Assist with the development and implementation of the district technology plan.
* Participate in ongoing training as supported by the district.

SALARY: Annual, paid monthly. The salary is negotiable depending upon education, training, and work experience. A competitive salary will be paid for this position.
BENEFITS: A single health insurance and dental plan is paid for the position; sick and personal leave; life insurance; and, paid professional development and training as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of an associate degree in a technology related field but relevant work experience may be substituted. Understanding of the school environment and technology needs of educational organizations preferred but not required. Experience in a school district preferred but not required.
BEGINNING DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: Negotiable but prefer early to mid-July.

No Tutoring at Writing Center During Finals Week
The Writing Center will not offer tutoring during finals week to allow student tutors to focus on their own exams and projects.
ACAC Closed May 22-23
The ACAC will be closed on May 22-23 while staff members attend the NACADA Advising Institute.
Rec Center Summer Hours
Beginning, Monday, May 13, the Rec Center will be open Monday through Friday 6:00am-10:00pm and closed Saturday and Sunday.
Library Summer Hours
Summer Semester
Monday thru Thursday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed Saturday & Sunday
When classes are not in session, Library Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday and closed Saturday and Sunday.
